Day 43 - Flew to Seattle, Dad in tow.
Day 44 - Dad flew up with me to get my car fixed, but parts weren't available today. So we too the day off and took a trip around the Mountain Loop Scenic Byway. Surprisingly few mountains, lots of forests and rivers. I don't often get a chance to just bond with dad, but today was a great day for it. :)

Car status:

The brakes and the rotors are not just fine, they're showing exactly the right amount of wear. The shaking problem is coming from elsewhere. Likely the tie rods or suspension. Dad's diagnosis - "Well...we can wait until it breaks, then we'll know exactly what's causing it."

The real thing I was worried about was the brakes would go out on me. That's not going to happen, so I can at least drive the car a little more confidently. With roadside assistance, I should be able to take a broken car punch a little better. And once money is saved, I can go to (a very different) mechanic for an overhaul.

Day 45 - With no work done on the Car, because what we thought was wrong wasn't what was actually wrong...we had another day to ourselves. Showed dad around the US 2 corridor. A lovely time was had by all.

Tomorrow he goes home. And this makes me genuinely sad. It's been a wonderful two days. :)
