Jun. 10th, 2021 01:34 pm30 Questions For Pride Month, Day 10: How did the first time you went on a public outing go?
I had two firsts, depending on how you look at it.
The very first time I was out was for my birthday. A friend decided to do my make up up and took me out for a night on the town...we never got out of the car though.
The second time I was out was REALLY my first time in public. Steph took me out for dinner and a movie. We weren't very rich, so it was a Subway dinner and a dollar movie rerun of (get this) The Crying Game.
The night out went well except for one part - ordering my food. I'd never ever practiced a femenine voice. And I had a mini freak out. I ended up getting through that, but not without a lot of prompting from Steph.
Also, my first time in a women's restroom. That was a little harrowing, but nothing happened.
At least that time - just a year or two later, I was nearly arrested in the self-same theater for using the self-same bathroom.
