30 Questions For Pride Month, Day 12: Who did you first come out to and how did it go?

Junior year in high school. At this point in my life, I knew I was trans, and making plans to move towards a transition when I was 20 or so (hoping to have surgery before 25).

I don't remember exactly what had happened, but I got angry at something and in a fit of testosterone fueled rage I punched a column at school cutting my knuckles pretty hard (testosterone is a helluva drug).

I was in creative writing classes when Steph and Stacy noticed I had scraped up my knuckles pretty badly. Steph asked what happened to me and I mentioned I was angry and took it out on a column. She let it go at that point, but the two began talking to themselves when I heard one of them say "Guys do the stupidest things."

That irked me, really really badly. Not in an angry way, but in a "I AM NOT A GUY" way. Just as we were leaving class, I remember asking Steph I wanted to talk to her after class.

And I came out to her. The first person to know I was trans. Her response? "It's about time you told me." I don't think I came out to Stacy, but I think I may have. After talking with Steph, I began telling all my girl-friends.

Looking back at it, I had a lot of girl-friends. Knowing what I know now, that's a LOT of trust. I sometimes wonder if my being trans had anything to do with that. I like to think so.

Steph's still my best friend and adopted sister thirty years later. <3

Given that Sunday is going to be a washout...there's a non-zero chance that I'll make a special trip to Jollibee Sunday.

Those of you familiar with Jollibee? What should I get?
