Whatever that flashing is, it's changed its shape, upped it's frequency (once every ten or fifteen minutes), and now when I see it it flashes two or three times.

Considering the "We don't want you here, get out of here and stop wasting our time" attitude I got from the opthamologists staff, I'm beginning to think I need a second opinion. If it gets worse, I'm going to different one next week (I can't afford any more time off (money wise, or points wise), even medically).

They can be jerks like that, but it may be a neurological issue that they really *can't* help you with. Or you could just be developing visual migraine auras.

I'm not so worried any more because you've eliminated the most immediately worrisome possible cause. If it's not a retinal tear, we can take a deep breath and see what happens next.

Honestly, if it's still going on next week, consider making an appointment with a GP instead of an ophthalmologist.

It was the GP who recommended the opthamologist! :)

Yeah, I'm worried about what it is myself - but as long as it's not a retinal tear, I'm not AS worried (The guy was not pleased at all I was there, but he wasn't unprofessional...just barely professional). I doubt he'd say anything to get me out of there.

Scintillating scotoma seems to be the most liekly diagnosis (she said knowing full well Wikipedia is not a doctor). We'll see if it continues to get worse.
