You know what pisses me off?

I've set aside timeto read a book and meditate. This time is 4AM-5AM. However, like clockwork, something I'm about to finish at 4 AM will crap out, or something that should take 2 minutes takes the whole hour. Then finishes or starts working at 5AM...when I want to go to bed and am too sleepy to do anything.

Today's was trying to send severeal graphic files toa friend - it should have taken a few minutes. It took the hour and still didn't work till 5AM when I just threw in the towel. This has been happening for about 2 weeks, now. It REALLY pisses me off.

AWFW has been completely revamped, along with a MUCH better version of AWFW #19.

Closetspace is delayed a week, but will be worth it if I can pull it off.

Not to sound know-it-all

Although not universal, reaching a stage where something seems to interrupt meditation is a fairly common thing. I know one person who always started a timer when they started meditating and stopped it when they finished so they'd no how long they were 'out.' For about a month, they would be interrupted between 5 and 5 1/2 minutes every time.

Just so that I'm not completely useless, I can offer a couple of suggestions that might help get through this period:

(1)Don't start anything within the half-hour before your chosen time.
(2)If something starts to interfere with your time, stop it and get back to it later.
(3)If these don't help, change the time you meditate. Like you, I prefer to meditate before going to bed, but conventional wisdom says it's actually best to do it shortly after you wake up.
(4)Don't insist on 'aware' meditation. If you keep getting held up until you're too tired to do aware meditation, meditate yourself to sleep. Although not the safest course, which is why I offer it last, it might be useful in helping you get through this period. It does end.

There are as many theories on why this happens as there are people who experience it multiplied by meditation techniques. My personal theory is that it's directly or indirectly because you're getting the attention of forces that affect random chance. Meditation generally helps us gain control of our lives by helping us notice the events in our lives that aren't quite as random as most people think, and whatever the reason, noticing this non-randomness seems to emphasize it in a very non-subjective manner.

Of course, I'm focused on a whole bunch o'stuff at the moment, and the preceding has been written fairly stream-of-consciousness. ::shoulder rub:: Try not to get frustrated.

I like it :-)

I know you had a hard time with that episode. I can see what's changed, too. I like it. It seems more... involved...? Not as distanced as the first one. *shrug* Just some reader feedback. :-)
