It's started.

I got called into the Adecco offices. Seems I've gotten a few complaints about using the girls room. Adecco and Harte Hanks wants to keep me here. And have told me to keep using it. What I don't like is that they're basing it all on "organs." I haven't had the chop - so they want me to use the boys room.

Like hell.

I mentioned that Dell had the same problem, and Dell HR backed me 100%. I offered different solutions - Private bathroom (don't have one), locked bathrooms (don't have one). I'm being given lip service that tells me they love me...but they're not going to back down on this issue.

I've told I won't either.

I really don't know what to make of the situation. I've told them to call my doctor to confirm I'm on hormones, told them to call Dell for the HR issue (if they'll release it). It doesn't look good.

Suggestions?

In the meantime, I've been told to go home. Meh.

do you know any guys there that would help you? maybe have them complain about a girl in the boys room if you do have to use it?

Why exactly are they complaining? I've never understood the big deal about seperate bathrooms.. you go in the stall.. do whatever.. go back to work..

I'm not sure if it's so much the actual going-to-the-bathroom as the doing-make-up-and-shit. Where i work now it's essentially unisex (separate stalls but common sinks/hand dryers/mirrors/etc). When we first moved into the building a lot of the chicks were complaining because they didn't want the guys being able to see them checking their make-up or some damn thing. Funny thing is, everyone's used to it now and it's no problem. *shrug* I mean, everyone knows the noises both men and women make on the toilet so it's not like even that's an issue... I don't get it, i really don't.

Buuut... in the case of being T, i totally get feeling uncomfortable in the "wrong" toilet, because that little guy on the door is a constant reminder... I wish i could help you Jenn, but i really can't think of anything. Unless Ts are covered by workplace anti-discrimination laws in Texas there isn't much you can do but try to swallow it (and don't drink anything at work).

I plan to use the women's restroom - period. No ifs ands or buts. If I really AM one of their better employees, then they'll need to acommodate me. If they don't, I'll walk. I've got some great friends with good advice though.

Mind you, considering how much I hate this current job, I have no problem walking eaither, and was actually considering that when I was called into the office.
