dolariOne of the bad about cross country tripping is what to see on the way. Sometimes you miss some really deep stuff simply because its not just on the side of the road, and takes more than five minutes.
That's great for museums and tourist traps...but the No Freeways route takes me to Laramie, WY. There's a Matthew Shepherd memorial on campus there I can't make because its too inconvenient.
And yet I can hit the cabin made of fossils. Feels kinda hollow....
