So, here's what's up.

Shortly before I moved from Seattle, my computer went kablooey. I had a small NetBook (seen below) one roomie gave me, and another roomie lent me some hardware until we made the final move out.

The NetBook could run Windows, but nothing else on top of that. I couldn't install any of my art tools since there simply wasn't any room.

I tried a few flavors of Linux, finally settling on a heavily finagled Arch Linux setup (running off of an SD card!) And xfce4 for a windows manager. I even managed to install all the tools necessary (Bluegriffon for html editing, Gimp for art, Xsane for scanning)...

The problem is...all my data files, tools, templates even the website itself, exist on a 2 terabyte hard drive. Arch Linux, on a 32-bit computer like the Net Book, can't read drives that large, effectively locking me out of my art stuff.

Now...I may be able to still make comics, and in fact, I've redownloaded the Web site in an attempt to get that going. But if you look at that pic, that's a tiny computer, and working on such a small scale isn't helping the process.

So what can we do to get that going? I'd like, if at all possible, to see if I can get enough donations to get a top of the line laptop (I still don't have a permanent home, yet), which I'll then use to make comics three times a week. At least until I get a job. A donation button exists on the website to donate towards the laptop at http://www.dolari.net/cs

Now, you don't have to donate...like I said, I'm going to at least keep trying, and buying a laptop (and a PC) when I get work...but it sure would help churn those conics out faster (and help with the eye strain...that screen is TINY).
