May. 16th, 2002 04:33 pmWhy do I even bother?
Tell me why?
I mean, I had a nice day planned for myself. I was gonna wake up early, get tickets to Episode 2, go for a nice long hike at Friedrich Park, have a good dinner, and watch the movie. I made sure to tell everyone I wanted the pickup for tonight - to PLEASE have it available and make arrangements with my sister for work.
When Iw oke up, my truck was here...fine, I got ready to leave and when I was asked where I was going, I said "I'm going to buy movie tickets." Their response "Be back before 5 so you can take your father to work." ?! When I asked about what I told them earlier, I got the typical "We don't know what you're talking about" look then a flash of realization...then "Well, we need you back anyways."
Okay, so no hike - I can still get tickets, have a good dinner, and watch the movie.
I got to the movie theater, no problem. Got tickets, no problem. Started on my way back, we have a problem. Everything on the truck decided to break down at once. Battery, alternator, and now a NEW water leak. I called home, and dad picked me up. He was not happy about this at all...not for my sake, but for his. We got home, all the while he was saying "At least we have yor sister's car."
This attitude KILLS me. GOD I hate this attitude. That 4x4 in the garage could easily be fixed...but they won't do it. Why "We have your pickup." Now the pickup won't be fixed because "We have your sister's car."
Hopefully my tickets won't go to waste by having a sister who will REFUSE to drop me off, or let me have her car. She does that, you know. A lot.
And then I get growled at for letting kids "see me."
I'm going to barricade myself in my room until 9PM - hoping that an asteroid won't fall from the sky and obliterate me.
Hmmm...that doesn't sound like a bad idea.
With that truck gone, no money to repair, and parents who won't repair it until my sister's car is gone the way of the dinosaur - I have nothing. No way out. I couldn't leave if a job came up and bit me on the ass.
Someone PLEASE tell me all this is worth it, and I get to save the princess at the end...cause I've pumped enough quarters into this game, andI'm beginning to regret ever starting it.
