I think it has to do something with phone harmonics. I make a girl's voice not by raising the pitch of my voice, but by getting rid of that "rumble" guys have. The way I describe it is talking with my tongue instead of talking with my larynx.

Problem is, the phone doesn't pick up that rumble...it just picks up the pitch, which is obviously still too low.

I'm hoping someone complains, they hear my voice, and decide to take me off the phones. I get asked that questions SO much it's obviously a "problem."

Frankly, I hope they hear that and take me off the phones. ;)
