I reached the end of the Internet. The last boss was hard.

Okay, I'm frazzled. Officially frazzled.

1) 4 minutes into a call, I get an IM from a supervisor: "You've been on that call for 20 minutes. Please work at ending it."
2) 15 minutes into lunch I get anther IM: "You're taking too long on your break." I have an hour lunch.
3) Creative thinking is bad. We have a set "Tree" of solutions that we MUST follow even if we think it's wrong. If we don't use it, we get yelled at. However, when we get approval to send out a part, we get yelled at for not trying stuff that isn't listed in the tree.
4) He wasn't joking - our call log metric should be over 100%. I don't know how that is possible. Someone on the team made 104%. This completely baffles me.
5) I'm seriously getting REALLY TIRED of this job. There are way too many beauracracies, too many conflicting policies that come down on our heads, armchair quarterbacking and approvals that do anything but.

And the worst one:

6) I can't quit. I got nowhere else to go.

could you make it a side 'hobby' to work at putting together a proposal about whats wrong with the department and other things?

Of course its a private project done on time when you have energy, desire or just plain pissed off...

I've done a few of those, helps me work through my frustrations, and one of them even got noticed and worked. I didn't get any bonus from it, but at least it got things changed and working better....

Worth a shot. ??

HOpe things soften up a little around there though.

That's a pretty quick way to get fired around here. The 2001 layoffs have left some really raw nerves around here. Anyone who criticises anything is fair game for the tap on the shoulder now a days.

However, if I did it at home, and kept the enemies list in a lock box....
