I wonder if you could get away with starting the call by 'confirming' their name and address, or perhaps, responding to derogatory remarks by doing it, just to make sure you have accurate information... of course...

Heh. i know what you mean. I used to work in telemarketing. People can be so stupid -- giving you their name and credit card info, then getting insulting and rude...
