The "religion" I created for A Wish for Wings has been to take stuff from all over and mix it into one thing. We haven't really delved into it, since we're still telling Andrea's story, but I'd been thinking of how to show a lot of it, since we're about to dive into it.

What I have now is a bit of the Christian Messenger/Fighter Angels, arranged in a semi-Jewish hierarchy, wearing Islamic hijabs (male and female wear them) occasionally acting as Scandinavian Valkyries.

There's indivdual stuff I haven't touched yet inside the angels, such as having Celtic figures as Morrigan and the Aztec Saint Death on the side of the Angels, a decidedly Mormon Creator

So, I'm bored at work, reading Wikipedia when I come across an entry on an Indo-European Religion.

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh........

And I suddenly get immersed in all sorts of prehistory goodness and parallels between the Greek, Persian, Lituanian, Latvian and all sorts of fun goodness. Someone done took a lot of religions, and mixed and compared them FOR me.

We have world trees (Yggdrasil and The Tree of Life) and Earth Goddesses and Sky Gods and battles between generations of gods! All sorts of fun!

I'd been having a hrd time wondering how to show the Angel/Shadow War and who is winning and losing, and through some of this Asgaardian "Ragnarok is coming!" Three levels of Yggdrasil stuff I think I have a good idea of how the war is going.

Another thing I was thinking of was how to unload the HUGE AMOUNTS of exposition coming up in "The Lesson of Patience." The Lesson of Paience has to show Morningstar's downfall, Hanna's life and ascenction to the Angels, and the creation of the Shadowmen. And the story of the Angels/Shadows since.

One thing I haven't said anything about yet is that when Hanna was human she was a tribeswoman in the Germany area around 12,000 BC (I believe there was prolly some kind of primitive civilization about that time that got wiped out for whatever reason and had to slowly crawl back out).

So I'm considering doing something artsy-fartsy again (which is something I don't want to do considering how the Closetspace artsy-fartsy thing failed miserably), and doing something akin to Prince Valiant in that storyline.

This way we can have massive amounts of exposition, but have the art as well, which will probably be done in a more "realistic" stylized version of cave drawings. If anyone's seen the last few issues of the Comico Grendel, you'll know what I'm talking about.

If I can pull it off it could be a pretty powerful piece of storytelling, considering the speaker, the events and the timeframe....

Mind you, I have to finish "Chroma Divine" (Two more epsodes) "Apotheosis" (Short) and "Black and Blue" (or "Bursting Point") before I get there.
