Comics UPDATED!

AWFW
And we've come full circle. One more episode in Chroma Divine. Wow. Three years ago, I honestly never thought I'd get this far. If we were still following the story I thunked up back in 2001, we'd be almost over.

It was nice to see Panels 4-6 again. They've been recolored, too. To be honest, I dont' think my drawings have really gotten any better since episode #1. Maybe a little more "smooth" but I think these panels are actually LOTS better than anything recent.

Now that we've come full circle (and roughly halfway through), here're some of the ideas that never made it or were rewritten:

Originally, Hanna made appearances throughout the 7 Year Old Andreas life, and we got to see more of her school life. We would have seen 7 Year Old Andrea at school being an insufferable Holier Than Thou kid, and even piss off her best friend Roger, who would have later been the Iblael Character.

The 17 Year Old Andrea's adventures would hae been more political, with Roger introducing her to the Celestial Exchange Agency, which would have been an Angels-Only group. Instead of having the fight with Abaddon (who wasn't even a glimmer in my eye at the time), shw would have taken over the group, but split it into two competing groups self-destructing it (angels don't lead, they serve). Instead I rewrote this into splitting the Graces up (also not thought of when I came up with the story).

The 27 Year Old Andrea would still have met Michael, but in the original story he was unbalanced, hearing voices n his head telling him he would be able to fly at his happiest moment. He jumped off the building on his own, instead of being thrown off by Abaddon. Another version had Andrea being the one who had become off balance by trying her BEST to be an angel, and failing on all counts.

The Graces came about after seeing my best friend and her sisters posing for a picture, and they quickly wrote their way into the story. Abaddon began as a mistake, where I was working on a picture of Hanna and made the mistake of reversing the colors on the image, making an "Angel of Dark" which looked so good, she wrote her way in.

And it's about time we got an episode I liked.

There's really only two and a half new panels in this one, with Panel 1 being the usual stock shot of the McEntyre house (I sure wish I had more shots of that house). The nice thing, though, is actually having time to do some proper shading and inking again, so I think that REALLY helps this episode.

Hopefully this episode comes across more as "ships passing in the night" instead of "wow, Allison's boring." I wanted to get across that Carrie doesn't really know about what's happened to her mom, and Allison is out of it....

This is kinda of a milestone for me. Episode #5 is the last episode I have more than just a "Sentence" synopsis for. The next TWENTY episodes are more like AWFW, in that I have an idea of what I want to do, but it's not rigidly scripted anymore.

I also kinda FORGOT this was the last episode, and made a real quit "Next Episode" graphic up. Usually I take a week's break between episodes, but considering how crappy the episodes have been lately AND the fact that I took time off a few weeks ago, we'll just go right into "Crossing the Threshold." If I'd remembered this was the last episode of Beginnings, I woulda thuked up a better title. I wrote pretty prententious titles for this stuff.
