Hot and Spicy Buffalo Lobster Wings
Jul. 27th, 2003 03:19 amThey day got off to a rocky start when I woke up VERY late. I'd expected to be up by Noon, but actually woke up closer to 2, which is the time Dean and I had expected to head towards San Antonio for a day of Fun Filled San Antonio Fun. I had planned to have breakfast at an IHOP come back, wait for Dean and take off. Instead we just both headed to IHOP.
3 Eggs, 3 pancakes, hasbrowns and a T-Bone steak. Definately more than I SHOULD have eaten...but I hadn't eaten since the day before...and I ate it all. A couple of hours later, my stomach decided to tell me that it decided I'd eaten too much. Looking back, I agree.
Anyways...
We headed to San Antonio, and then hit a thunderstorm just outside of Buda, then a traffic jam outside of San Marcos. At that point, I decided a trip to San Antonio was just not to be. So we hung around San Marcos, trying to find something to do, and ended up going into Wonder Cave. Not as good as the Innerspace Cave in Georgetown, but still a lot of fun. I took lots of pictures, none of which came out. I guess Film still beats Digital in some aspects.
We hung around there for a while, let my stomach settle, took pictures of wooden chicken heads gracing a white picket fence and "Andrea's" house. We headed back and picked up my birthday presents to myself: A copy of the Cowboy Bebop movie (The only thing missing, is an isolated music track), Street Fighter the Movie (really), and Spaceballs on DVD.
Then Birthday Dinner: We hit Red Lobster and had Lobster Tails. I've only ever had Lobster Tails once before in my life...and as usual I made a complete bohemian of myself, not-very-gracefully tearing the lobster into shreds until I realize you could cut the shells away from the meat.
We got home, had some Blakc Forest Cake and Tin Roof, watched a movie...and declared the day a success.
Many thanks for all the birthday wishes! I put them to good use. :)

Date: 2003-08-01 02:28 pm (UTC)Probably raising stalker warning flags, but fear not, I'm just some guy who used to idolize you when he was a punk nethead called EdenGuy. Many moons ago. Found your LJ on a spontaneous whim. Mind if I friend you?
Anyway, funky birthday coincidence, as mine was on the 28th. Happy birthday! Excellent DVD selections, I must say. Be well!

Date: 2003-08-04 05:41 pm (UTC)I m, as the leet types say, teh silly. So like me to get the date wrong because I didn't scroll down far enough to see the HUGE TEXT celebrating your birthday the day before. :)
And yes, *very* long time no see. :)
As for how I've been, I've been.. busy. Oblah di, oblah da, life goes on. Couple of relationships come and gone, one with a guy and one with a girl, and now I'm living in Louisiana (practically on the Texas border) with my family and my newest darling, high school best friend Garr. We're attending a crappy technical college type place in Lake Charles. I'm looking into converting to Judaism and learning Japanese, making relatively half-assed efforts at both, and very carefully nudging my novelist potential with an outstretched toe.
What's been up with you? Not that I ever really knew a whole lot about your life; you were always the secret mysterious type. And if you weren't, I'm using that as an excuse for my lousy memory. ;)
Great to 'see' you again! :)

As for me being mysterious, I had my reasons. My celebrity is gone, so I don't need to be so secretive anymore.
