I hate blood tests. I really really hate them. This is a recent development.

Back when I was on hormones the first time, I needed to get blood tests quite a bit. So I made a habit of not eating the day before I saw my doc, so that I could take a fasting blood test right away at the phlebotomist next door.

2nd time around, he wants me to take blood tests again, but this time he wnats me to take them two or three weeks after out offivce visits. This means doing a blood test in Austin.

We all know how well that went last time. That time I was jabbed TWELVE TIMES in each arm, my hands and the insides of my elbows before the phlebotomist gave up.

One of my drugs, spironolactone, is a diuretic, and it dehydrates me a LOT. I figured that was the ssue there. So onmy way to San Antonio, I drank LOTS of water and the San Antonio phlebotomist got the blood out just fine.

So I go back to the Austin one again - this time I didn't take any of my meds, drank lots of water, and went for a blood test.

Three jabs later, I said "That's enough." Like hell was I going to be jabbed 12 times again because the phlebotomist (the same one who jabbed me 12 times before) can't figure out where my veins are and is digging around to find one. That hurts like hell.

And since the other phlebotomist locations are REALLY inconvenient...well..I'm going to just fuck it, and wait for my San Antonio appointments and do the blood tests there. At least they seem to know what they're doing.
