Groin grabbingly transcendent.
Sep. 19th, 2003 03:50 amConsidering my roomie had just lost his job, and I may be as well, we had a surprisingly good day.
We went looking for the place Dean is going to interview at, and continued through a scenic drive and a landed at Mayfield Park.
Ho-lee-cow. Remember all that crooning I was doing about Friedrich Park in San Antonio? How I wish I could find something like it in Austin. I found it. :D It's a park with a really nice "party house" (an old house made into a meeting house), loads and loads of nature trails, and...PEACOCKS! LOTS OF PEACOCKS! AND KOI PONDS!
PEACOCKS!
From there it was a Freebirds Burrito, New Orleans Snow Cone, a resume print, and then Dark Side of the Rainbow (Wizard of Oz played to Dark Side of the Moon) which you can read about here: http://www.livejournal.com/~jenndolari/2002/10/05
This time, the second part synched up a LOT better than the last time I saw it. Not to mention they showed LIQUID TV BEFORE THE SHOW! LIQUID TV, FOLKS! I had an orgasm on the spot. :D
They also showed another supposed syncronization of 2001's Stargate Sequence with Echoes (http://www.pinkfloydonline.com/echoes2001_synchs.html) and it wasn't so bad. It wasn't as specific as Dark Side of the Moon (where instruments punctuate movements and scene cuts). Music changes happen at the end of the slit-screen Star Gate sequence, the "glowing planet" sequence, and the end of the Bowman Eating Dinner sequence. It never finished though, since the cut it off to make room for the Oz movie itself.
Again, I look at all these homemade trailers and local events, and I wonder if I should do the flash animation version of the Polychronicon.
I go into work tomorrow - let's hope I don't turn around and walk right back out.
