Dec. 13th, 2005 01:43 amWhen I moved to Austin in 2000, it was a "blind move." I had no idea where I was going. I just picked an apartment that was on the high-end of affordable and crossed my fingers. When I got there, I was relieved to see it was a safe part of town, and near so many many unique things.
It was an artist's colony kind of place...my truck was parked next to a tree that had a bike mounted in it 30 feet up. A manniquin sat outside a yard with a gorilla mask on it. Another house had a special little light setup up for every season I was there.
I wasn't prepared, the day after Thanksgiving, for this:

I miss the artisty feeling of 37th. I wanna go back to live there one day. :)
