dolariOkay, since Thursday was a wash, lemme tell you about Wednesday.
I talked with Sophia Wednesday, the M2F from San Antonio at a Jim's (where our waitress seemed intent on making sure our drinks never got a millimeter under the rim). In all, it was a good time. Although, I did feel kinda bad for her. She came in female, lost her nerve at the door, and came back male. Hopefully, I exuded enough confidence for both of us. :) She seems sane, something I look for in the TG subspecies of human, and is in the very same position I was ten years ago. Trying to find a way to help the community.
The main reason I wanted to meet with her, despite the fact that I tend to turn my nose up at the TG community in general, is that I hit so many brick walls while trying to move forward in my life while tryng to "help and get help from the community." There was a LOT of "I did my time, why should I help with yours" from the people in the community at the time. My response was "If you build a ladder to climb a wall, don't take the ladder with you."
So, I'm going to take a small plunge back into the nightmarish world of support groups and help her out with her group. I can always make fun of nastiness in Closetspace. :)
Speaking of which, I gotta kick my ass about only getting one comic done this week. And not even "DONE." Only 4 panels of CS done, and nothing of AWFW....
But first, sleep....

Date: 2003-10-10 01:17 pm (UTC)I love the ladder thing, but I actually can understand the people who do that a little. It's the ones who go to greater extremes, such as tearing down and then rebuilding the wall, that completely boggle my mind.
