I'm still somewhat resting my hand up a bit, by not typing as much as I should. But in this blog it's a double edged sword. Yeah, it's good not to type a long-ish entry everyday. But then when you do write something, in order to catch up, you write a book. :)
So, just a few short bursts to catch up, and I'll try getting back to daily entries again.
COMIC NEWS:
I'm back to drawing the comics again. My hand isn't 100% yet, but it's 99%, and I was getting antsy to get back into drawing. I'm planning to start up a pay-for-wallpaper thingy again, as well as taking Strangelv's Tubular Brain idea (if he doesn't mind) and making it a bonus comic (Pay my expenses this week, get a new Tubular Brain strip!) I have an idea for this months wallpaper, too. The site has also been updated and reorganized. Everything on the site is available now from the left control panel on the front page. The Table of Contents now just shows comics, and all the art, fan art and otherwise, is now on an "extras" page. I may just change that to "gallery." But I like Extras, cause there's more than just art on them.
HEALTH NEWS:
My sprained ankle was just that, a nasty nasty sprain, but nothing more. After about a week, it was healed enough that I thought about going back to the trail to walk it again (gotta get back on that horse), but ended up not doing it until yesterday, two weeks after my sprain. It ended up aching a bit at the end of the walk, but just a dull ache. It'll get better. The hand, like I said, is 99%. When I wake up, it's still numb, but it quickly goes away. The allergy attacks are still here, but not as frequent and not as strong.
JOB NEWS:
I've had two really good interviews last week, and I'm waiting for word on each. They're both entry level typsetting jobs, but, you know, you gotta start somewhere. One pays well, has no benefits, and is a large coporation type place. Another pays not very well, but has full benefits, and is a smaller shop. Hopefully we'll hear something on both soon. If I don't hear from them at all, though, I'm gonna have a serious punch to my self-esteem.
ROADTRIPPING NEWS:
For those that don't know, my mother won a Chevy Tahoe in a contest a few weeks ago. Today was the first day I really got to see it, and took it for a roadtrip. The Tahoe is totally automatic and loaded. Completely. Power windows, power hatchback, power seats, power seat folders, individual air-conditioning for each passanger, front AND rear radios, 6 CD Changer, and a dot-matrix-LCD screen that "reads" to you your mileage, oil levels, fuel levels and whatnot. It doesn't so much have a dashboard, as it has a cockpit. We took it for a small little roadtrip (100 miles or so), and for the only 4x4 off roading it'll ever do (and a very gentle one at that, can't chip the paint, you know). :)
Here's the road trip run (links take you to historical info on the towns: Austin to Jollyville to Pond Springs to Cedar Park to Jonestown to Lago Vista to Smithwick to Marble Falls to Round Mountain to Cypress Mill to Hammetts Crossing to Bee Cave to Austin....
PARK NEWS:
I finally went back to the park where I sprained my ankle, and this time, was a bit more careful where I stepped. Allow me to say I LOVE this park. It's in the middle of a subdivision, but deep in a canyon. Once you step down (and I do mean down) into it, you're in deep woods and can't see anything "artificial." Well, I did spot on power pole, and a few strom drain manholes, but they're hard to see. The place is just riddled with little trails, a cave(!), pools or water, and a running creek that runs along side the park. It's lovely. And I plan to go back often. :D
HOUSE NEWS:
Jill has moved into the house, and along with Dean, we're finally all stuffed in here. I'm glad I live lightly, because seeing Dean and Jill packing two of everything into all these rooms is really scary. The house is too too stuffed, and a garage sale is coming. Speaking of which, I have a big box of clothes that doesn't fit anymore, so if anyone out there would like to peruse it, gimmie a buzz.
And that's it! Time to get to the comics...or breakfast. Whichever comes first. :)
