dolariOkay! Backups are all fixed up. I took the corrupted backups, put them aside, unpacked all my old backups from CD, and simply copied the newer (working) backups over the older (still working) backups. When those were all consolidated, I ran them over the corrupted ones. Now all those backups should be working, and if anything isn't, it should be the newest files I've gotten, which shouldn't be too too hard to re-get.
I have a job interview. Wednesday at 1PM. The problem is, it's in San Marcos. For those not in Central Texas, San Marcos is not just across town from me, but in another county. A 60 mile round trip through downtown Austin. This is not good. But also, I may not have a choice in wether to take it or not. I need to get out of the house, this is the only interview I've had in a month, and the only way to create a parachute before I run off to Seattle.
Pros: Money. Out of House. Lower cost of living. San Antonio and Austin (almost) equally far away. Rural Texas is just about ten minutes away. It seems that people who live there get slammed with thunderstorms daily. :)
Cons: REALLY long commute during peak gas price gouging season till I move out there. Town not as tolerant of transfolk (but not actively hating them). Town is pretty small, with the only real shopping at Wal-Mart (if you don't go to the outlet store).
I don't want to move to San Marcos, but if it's the only job I get, I guess I will. It'll only be for a year, and I know the area pretty well already. If it's enough money, I could concievably live in one of the smaller communities "around" San Marcos without it being too far away to make me late and/or be too much of a commute.
