Suddenly, all the budgeted cash is freed up, and I can budget it for other things...such as Prints! And CDs! WOOO!

My $100 budget got turned into a $200 budget over night. Instead of swimming in a pool of 200 one dollar bills, I decided to invest a little of it into FINALLY buying some toner for my printer. I've had this printer for just over year, but got it with very little ink left and no cash to replace it. So I used it until it simply stopped printing in any color but Magenta.

I tried making prints on Dean's printer a few days ago, and got through six before his yellow died out on him. Instead of buying ink for his printer, I decided I'd throw it in mine since his is still print with his other inks and mine isn't. We'd have 1 and 3/4th of a printer, instead of 1 and 1/3rd. I'll buy new inks for his printer when the job starts.

His printer shot out a page every two or three minutes at Super High Quality Photo printing settings. Mine? One page every 15 minutes. Oi. Four hours of printing later, and I had a nice set of 8x10s and 4x5, though.

Then came the CDs. Oi, the CDs. Those things are a super pain. They come with a really terrible calibration program that makes you "best guess" how the labels print on their label stock. It just doesn't work, confirmed by the fact that the CD labels "overshot" the labels by a good deal no matter how I printed them. I finally shrunk them down so there was a HUGE bleed (white space) around the CDs and then manually adjusted where the image sat on the paper with each run (too far to the left this time? move the image...too far to the right, move it a bit back). I finally got it dead center on the last CDs, which means as you go "Back" you see more and more misaligned labels. But at least I finally have the Comico Logo effect I was going for.

Speaking of which, I bought a set of CDs and refills of CD labels, all for $100. Spread over 10 CDs, 14 8x10s, and 24 4x5s, I could sell everything at $2.08 and break even. If I sold everything at the full prices I was planning (Posters at $25, CDs at $10, 8x10 at $5, and 4x5s at $2) I'll make $258, and get WAY past the $100 mark, and get closer to a Sizable Chunk of Future Rent. At least that's the plan. Remember, I made a solid $1 off those posters. :)

Will I sell everything? I doubt it. But I'm sure I'll still break that $100 mark. Kinda have to....
