Clothing uploaded. Thank you Microsoft
DirectLingerie.

In semi-typical fashion, my mother has one-upped
me. I had asked her to get some Day of the Dead
stuff on Friday, which she did on Saturday. When
I woke up today, she had created an altar. I
wanted to do this, but she did it herself. She
does this a lot. However, it's a nice looking
altar, with the bread and skull sitting there, a
plate of pan dulce, a pack of lifesavers and a
plate of tamales for my grandfather. I will have
pictures up tomorrow.

Strangely enough, my mother's spirit was really
good today, and we all talked about him most of
the day. In all, it was a good thing. :)

We had a nice BBQ dinner. TASTY BBQ dinner.

They finally showed the last Big O today, and
they got me. They played the opening to episode
#20 again, and two minutes later it stopped and
said "Sorry, we just HAD to do that."

Again, let me say that Big O is one big
Mindfuck. and the ending is even one MORE on top
of the original mindfuck :) I like how they made
it deliberately muddy at the end, so you could
make up your own end to it, and it would be
valid. I have a feeing I know what happened
(what with the Director's board, the Dorothy
modeling sheets and the Big O poter in one shot),
but there could be hundreds of other
interpretations, and they're all good. Because
not only is Big O made for YOU, but the whole
world of Paradigm City is, too.

So the series is over. And as usual ends get me
thinking. My elf story has never ever finished.
i've been working on the basics for over a year
now, and it still has no real ending. Or
middle. It has points I want to reach, but
nothing in the way of...well...story. Scarily,
it mimics Big O in several ways. TES (the Elf
Story) and Big O both involve cities that lost
their memory (Big O: 40 years ago, TES: Tens of
thousands of years ago). They involve digging up
memories as an intregral part of their stories
(Big O: To use them as power sources, TES: To
learn the truth of the foundations of The
Corporation). However, I think the differences
are good enough to mark them as different
series. Big O doesn't have a protagonist forced
to fight a war he has no part in, TES has no Big
Robots that Destroy the city in every episode.

Anyone out there want to draw TES as a weekly
series? I have a feeling the story won't flesh
out till I begin to get some of the earlier story
out. Anyone need a NaNoWriMo premise? :D

It's wierd to get glimpses of things I can't
really fathom, but then, as I work on them, thye
make sense. But TES just isn't forthcoming with
much. Just recently I got glimpses what the city
looks like that everyone lives in, which is a
"Spire." Like a city that started in one point
and has had layer upon layer built upon it, while
growing, so that the center is higher above
anything else (The Hill, I'm told it's called).
I've also recently seen people digging in the
Earth underneat the spire, trying to reconstruct
life Tens of Thousands of years ago, trying to
make sense of crushed layers of the city).

It's late, i need to take a shower and get to
bed. Jenni, PLEASE call me about 2PM to wake me
up - I'll try to get together with you post
haste. :)

Here's what I think happened, as posted to AS boards.

Since #23, I was thinking this was all a TV show, and #26 told me I was right. Basically, the city is a construct, as are the people in it, except for The Main Characters - Dorothy, Roger, Angel, Gordon and possibly Alex. All the tomatoes may be real, too, but had been slowly killed off over time.

The whole idea of What Happened 40 years ago was something written into their story. I seriously doubted that anything existed before 40 years ago, and even later in the series, I began to doubt anything existed years or even MONTHS before episode #1. Everything was constructed to keep the mystery of the series going.

Alex, however, bought into his role too well, and began a long involved plan to destroy everything around him to bring about another amnesia. Gordon, as the Director or the series, tried to fix things, but couldn't. Eventually, he comes to the idea that he needs to reset his show, goes into the ground where the control room is, with Angel, who will rewrite the series.

Angel uses Big Venus to erase the program, destroying the robotic/holographic humans, and is about to destroy Roger and Dorothy as well. He negotiates their existence to her, saying that he will remember her no matter what happens.

Big 0 and Big Venus merge into each other. Once everything was destroyed, Angel would have gone back to the control room and written her script and done the show (the book, now written by Angel). But by melding with Big O, she pulls Roger and Dorothy with her into the control room.

The multiple Rogers are necessary now, since the human Roger is down in the control room with Angel. The Dorothy character models and doll are designs used to help "rebuild" her in the new Paradigm city. The show begins, this time with subtle differences, such as a human Dorothy, a wiser Angel and a robotic Roger. This time with a slightly less chaotic story.

Hmmm... my question is whether the Roger and Dorothy in the control room are the same one as in Big O.

The three clues that point to them not being the same:

1) Roger is wearing his jacket.
2) Dorothy isn't missing her core memory unit.
3) When it cuts to Big Venus and Big O merging, Roger is still standing on Big O's chest.

One theory could be that if Angel is the Director, Roger and Dorothy are the Producers. They are the original Roger and Dorothy; the ones on stage are replicas, hence Dorothy's design plans being in Angel's possession.

Who knows... it's an idea, anyway.

Be careful. That particular piece of software, being MS, needs patches. :)
