Saturday, March 10th
Mar. 23rd, 2007 04:54 pmMArch 10th, Dean and Jill had set up a cookout for us in the evening, so we spent the day lazily exploring Great Hills Park, and pointing out shots that were in AWFW, like the waterfall area where Andrea's funeral was, the cave I'd planned to have Hanna and Andrea walk into afterwards, and the beautiful forests all around, so deep in canyons that houses don't exist for people in the park. We also drove around the area where Dean lives, which is a wonderfull hilly area with good views of the city and the GO LANCE! signs painted on the streets.
That evening, we all had a cookout, with Jill's World's Best Hamburgers, Dean's They Came out of a PAckage Hot Dogs and my At Least My PAckage Says Elgin Sausage Sausages.
That evening we took a trip to the Asian Grocery to buy some small foodstuffs and attempted to find that delicious Steamed Sweet Rice Cake. I'd had good luck finding a few of the Dim Sum items at the asian store (pork buns!) and some sweet rice cakes, but not the same kind as they served at T&S (More like the kind you see in anime, all triangly pressed rice with seaweed wrappers).
We went next door to the Thor's Hammer Comic Shop and looked around for a bit, marvelling at the geekery within. After some time perusing the toys, we went back to Dean's (WHERE I LEFT MY PORK BUNS!) and came home.
Tomorrow would be a bigger day...more that we realized!
