You really are a louse, Roger Smith
Dec. 4th, 2003 07:32 amI managed to get all of Closetspace pencilled today. We had a slight problem, though. For the second time in Closetspace, I "lost" the story.
When I lose the story, it's basically a gigantic losing of the train of thought of a story. I knew I was in trouble when I drew Victoria being worried around Allison. When I asked her "Why are you worried" she told me "I don't know." NEver a good sign when you're on a weekly schedule. :) She found out why, though, and that helped me draw Sunday's episode...but...that was it.
When I finished pencilling Sunday's episode, I asked the characters what is happening next so I can get a feel of what I need to gear up for. They had no idea. I knew what they were going to be doing in a few hours, but not the NEXT few hours. This bothered me because not only would this make this a short episode, but there'd be a big jump from "practicing" to "show time."
Just in time, though, Allison came through and gave me a scenario to play out for the next few episodes to make the jump a little less abrupt.
This isn't the first time this has happened. In AWFW, I've lost the story twice - after the fight with Iblael and after Faith brings the girls to the forest only to ditch them. In both cases, they revealed something hefty (Abaddon's teeth, Faith's ditching). I only lost the story once, in Closetspace, when Becky cam to visit. That one was so bad that I drew a "filler" episode where Becky's goes through Victoria's "shrine." Thankfully this time around I think we'll get something akin to Abaddon's Teeth. :)
I never explained the Entropy Incarnate thing from the other day. The Entropy Incarnate thingy comes from a phenomenon I began to nitice shortly after I was given the truck. If you give my parents the truck, it comes back broken. Anything left there for a long time, even if not used, will begin to break down. Examples:
Leaving my truck with my parents while I ran off to Pennsylvania, I came back to find the slave cylinder on my clutch broken. After my parents took my truck after the massive layoff, the lights no longer worked. Anothre loan and my odometer stopped working. Another loan and my truck begins pulling to the right. Last time they had it, my inside light stopped working, and my radio resets to 1AM when I turn the key off. And when you say "It's just your truck!" there's MORE!
A brand spanking TV they bought me for christmas 2000, has been sitting at home since June 2001 and not used. I finally use it while I stay there, and the screen has magnetic discoloring everywhere. a VCR I've had since Christmas 2001, and not used for a year and a half now has to be hit or else static lines show up everywhere.
I've even had toys fall apart in my hands without the slightest abuse.
And I may be going back this weekend. Anyone wanna borrow my truck? :)
And finally, I need to start logging what I eat. I'm noticing I have gained some serious weight again, and I really don't need that. If I log what I eat, I can make sure I don't eat too much, instead of eating a lot of little things all day long, or one thing that's just way too big in the middle of the day. I'll make a Food Only filter so y'all don't have to see what sort of nastiness I eat. :)
