Here are some of the new things up at my plot in Second Life, thanks to the new river. (2.5MB, 14 Images)

Here's a basic overview of the north part fof my land. The "Picnic Area" overlook is to the right, the walkways run through the center, the reading nook is at the top left, the campfire at the middle left, and the detatched patio just left of center. The Teepee and Blue and White apartment belong to folks that in the year I've been there, have never met.

Here's a closeup of the Picnic Area/Overlook. It's actually been significantly widened because the neighbors (who also own the land on the other side of the teepee and blue and white house) were thinking of connecting their castle to the terrace. Unfortunately, there were too many plots between us and the castle to make is feasable. I kept the wide terrace though, because it was more roomie.

Originally, the water in the cisterns came out of nowhere, and when I built the walkways, the water came out of one of the parapets. I really didn't like how that looked, so I built an acequia so it looked like water was coming out of the mountain. With the changes to the plot, I decided to add supports so it didn't look like it was just dangling there.

The campfire had always been kind of isolated from the rest of the plot by the walkways. Because one of my neighbors has his plot locked off to the public, the only way ou could get to it from the patio was to walk up the walkway and back down (going under the walkway was possible, but only if you were short). I lowered the land under the walkway and added a wingwalk leading to the campfire from the patio and vice versa. Really opened it up.

A beauty shot of the water coming down off the acequia.

A shot from above, showing the new wingwalk going to the campfire a new bridge from the house to the patio (and another from the house to the walkway), and a new dammed pond (part of the extension of my waterfalls into the river).

A shot showing the source of the river, right down to the edge of my property. The nearest bridge also has fireflies that come out at night. The water textures came from the neighbors, and look a might better than the ones I had before, which were very chlorine blue.

Looking out away from the patio area. The bridge was provided by the neighbor as a way to get from my place to hers, the property line is JUST where the river bends.

The neighbors plots. The folks I've been working with are only now starting to build up their plots. The big grey cave and log cabin to the far right are a friends. The one to the bottom left is a shop. If you'll notice, the back and sides of my plot facing theirs is tree-less - I'm waiting to see what they're putting up before I add trees, since I use the trees to give the illusion of a canopy and to hide unnatural looking areas.

The river jumps under a road here, through a waterwheel, heading south to the bay. This is all the neighbors property. Love the little construction warning signs. :D

It finally ends up here in the bay. The unfinished plots should look more like what you see on the right - gardens, sitting areas, and maybe a tavern.
