I'm going to have a job either way. Katrus' adventures with his T-Mobile sidekick has made me think about getting one. What say y'all?

It'd be great for surfing at work away from the prying eyes of my job, AND staying on AIM when I'm at work. Assuming one of the jobs doesn't steamroll me. :)

It's also a lot smaller than a dreamcast. :)

If you don't need it as a phone, you can get just the data-only plan for $20/mo. I think mine is a great investment, its saved our asses on more than one occasion. And its convineient to be able to check things like maps and movie listings without much thought.

The data only plan by itself is actually $30/mo., but it's still a deal for everything you can use it for. :)

Won't they charge you for airtime while you are online?

Me, I've got an "old" hamdheld and the cable(s) it takes to hook it to my cell phone. That lets me use the cell phone as a modem.
