New YEars Eve was a quiet affair at first. Emily and I woke up late, lounged around, took our time getting ready. We had an open innvitation to see Erin and company that evening, but it had been made a long time before, and I don't like popping in unannounced.
When we hadn't heard from them before it got late, we went out to Sushiland for a New Year's Eve Dinner, and a Dairy Queen desert. Sushi and Ice Cream. I swear we're not pregnant. :)
Once we got home, we kinda set ourselves to spending the night together, when we got a call from Erin letting me know she got our message and why the hell weren't we over there already. We quick "Driving the hell out of I-405" we found ourselves at Casa Lindsey and spent the evening with everyone there having a low key party, eventually seeing the Space Needle explode into a billion pieces as they shot fireworks off the darned thing. Best line of the night: "This is the most elaborate NASA Rocket Launch I've EVER seen."
There was a bittersweet moment for me, when they were going through the channels, and we came across the Central Time Zone celebrating New YEars...and they were showing San Antonio and the Tower of the Americas. I do miss home a lot...and that reminded me that while I have a lot of friends here, this still isn't home for me. But at least it's friendly.
After New Years, we broke into groups, one watching movies and drinking upstairs, another watching Justice League Unlimited and talking animation and writing downstairs. A good time was had by all. We went home very late, and had a good night's sleep all snuggled up.
I miss Emily. :)
