I am too fat.

I really find it sad that food that is bad for you (ramen, cheap preprocessed food, junk food) is cheaper to live on that good stuff. And they wonder why the poor have weight problems.

When I can afford them, fruits and vegetables make up almost half my grocery bill, and that doesn't last as long as the rest.

I screwed up the Closetspace feed and can't check it at work, so just to let you know - no comics this week.

I've had the same problem. Not necessarily weight-wise but certainly with trying to fit affordable meat and vegetables into my budget. What i've resigned myself to is four meat dinners a week, where each meal is either one piece of steak or about a half pound of hamburger or stir-fry pork. That's about AU$10 for the week. Vegetables come in a bag of salad that lasts two meals, and a bag of baby carrots that lasts all week. Also potato and sweet potato. Can of spam is also good, another meat meal. Then there's beans or rice for the other two meals. Breakfast is eggs on toast. Lunch is a cheese and salami sandwich. I'm still not sure i'm eating enough meat and healthy food, but so far i've managed to steer clear of ANY take-out for the past three-four weeks, and i've only bought one bag of chips and about two candy bars... And i'm spending less on food than i used to! I'm really struggling because it's like the stores conspire against you to make you buy crap :( But i think i'm getting there, i'm sure you will find some sneaky solutions too.

And what did I get out of all that? A craving for a chocolate bar. :D
