So, you finally finished up your Galactica DVD set, all 24 hours. NOW what?




Galactica 1980! That's what!




With the stoic Kent McCord as Boxey, er Troy. And the goofy Barry Van Dyke as Dillon.


And Robert Reed (aka architect Mike Brady) trying to branch out from goofy TV to...well...goofy Sci-fi.


And Lorne Greene as a bearded Adama who is actually the best thing about Galactica 1980...unless you count....



The TurboCycles! The can fly!

And I haven't even touched the surface. We have Knight Riderish Share Cropper Hijinks, Wolfman Jack as...well...Not-Wolfman Jack, Troy and Dillon taking part in a Broadway Musical, the gaggles of Boxeys known as The Super Scouts, the enigmatic and constantly changing actors of Doctor Zee, and Starbuck turning a dreaded cylon into a battered housewife! And I don't get me started on the disco pants. :)

When is THIS coming out on DVD?

But it explained *so* much about the Cylons.

We'd always suspecyted that the Cylons flew be committee decision. :-)

One of the "cool" bits of the "Halloween" episode (the Cylons invading Earth) didn't hold up. If a Microwave oven could "kill" a Cylon being near any operating radar would too.

You know, I only ever saw about ten minutes of that episode (the Halloween one). I wish Sci Fi would replay Galactica 1980 so I could get the whole run. I only have a few of the episodes.

Did you know that the Return of Starbuck episode was actually a Galactica Episode that was meant for Season 2? That would explain why it wasn't half bad.

Or that they were in the middle of filming a drecky time-travel episode called "The Day they Kidnapped Cleopatra" for 1980 when it was cancelled?

I knew it was put together from "leftover" Galactica footage.

That time travel episode couldn't have been much worse than the WWII one. :-(
