Dolari "World" Tour #0 (1990, 574 miles): http://tinyurl.com/kn45ps

Originally a family trip from San Antonio to Yellowstone National Park. Dad planned the routing at first, but then asked me to plan my own route in Texas. His only rule was that I needed to be at Carlsbad, NM in the evening. We went out US Highway 90 instead of I-10, and enjoyed the scenic Chihuahua Desert, saw Judge Roy Bean's Courthouse and Saloon, the bluffs at the Rio Grande in Mexico, the hills of Alpine, the Marfa Lights (or where they should have been if it wasn't mid afternoon) and Guadalupe Peak. Made it to Carlsbad that evening. Car broke down in Santa Fe, never made it to Yellowstone.

Round Trip from San Antonio to Slippery Rock, PA. My friend Dave visited his girlfriend, I visited my boyfriend (who drove from Slippery Rock to Lock Haven). Straight there, straight back with no stopping. If Dave was asleep, I was driving. If I was asleep, Dave was driving. Made it each way in 22 hours.

San Antonio to State College, PA. One way. Rest stops in San Marcos, TX; Texarkana, TX; Memphis, TN; Bowling Green, KY and Sharon, PA. The big move to Pennsylvania. I drove alone, and pulled over whenever I felt sleepy, and slept for however long I felt I needed to. That said, I left San Antonio at 1AM on a Friday Morning, and got to State College at 11PM on Saturday. 47 hours. The truck developed a stutter at the end of this trip that steadily got worse till it was fixed in 2004.

Roundtrip from State College, PA to San Antonio, TX, with overnight stays with friends in Marietta, GA; Decatur, AL both ways, and a sidetrip to Chattanooga, TN to see the arboreutum/aquarium there. This was a trip for mom's 1997 Family Reunion. And the trip that cause me to stop recognizing North Carolina as a state. Got lost in northern NC (ending up back in VA!), couldn't find a room to stay at because of a Nascar race, and when I did, was harassed for an hour straight with obscene phone calls. Eventually, I fell asleep for three hours in the parking lot of a McDonalds in Georgia. On my way back, I stopped at a rest stop just outside NC, got dinner, did what I needed to, and NEVER SET FOOT IN THE STATE despite driving through it. Turns out I also got my identity stolen on this trip.

One Way, State College to San Antonio. The Move to Austin (by way of San Antonio) in July with stops in Marietta and Decatur again. Half of this trip was driven by my mother...the half that didn't go where we should have. Originally, the plan was to drive to Baltimore on my way to Atlanta, and drop off my mother at the airport there so she could dly home. After we left State College, I fell asleep as she drove. When I woke up, we were in Columbus, OH. She decided that there were more flights out of Nashville and headed that way instead. - she didn't realize I was heading to Atlanta to see friends. The final leg of the trip was a trip downthe Camino Real, from Natchitoches, LA to San Marcos, TX. This was also probably the most dangerous part as I drop nearly 24 hours straight, not realizing how slow non-highway driving would be, or show slow going it would be stopping at historical markers placed every five miles. I ended up taking a half hour nap two miles from home, because I delt I coudlnt' go on.
