Work
I work at the best job ever, the awesomely named AwesomeJob. If you've never had one of our products you knew someone who did and wanted it.
The company is lovely. The workflow is constant, but not overbearing, the solutions are all provided for, and if not, are added quickly (yours truly got a policy change when I found a solution ::coughEXPLOITcough:: solving an ages old problem with one of our product lines. You are rewarded handsomely when you do good, coached gently when you do bad, and the perks (subsidized gourmet meals, 30% off our products in the company store) are freaking amazing. We get first crack at our products, weeks (and sometimes months) before they hit the stores.
They're not Perfectly Excellent though. I have been turned aside for a permanent position twice. Once for a reasonable reason (I hadn't been there long enough) and once for a silly reason (Not enough time passed since your last job interview). I am also still waiting on a raise promised to me for a job that began in March. Supposedly, I have three months to "settle in" to the new job, followed by a one-month "qualification" before I can get my raise. I've missed one qualification period, and am on my second now. Honestly, it feels like they're getting $15/hr work at $13, to me.
But other than that, I can't complain. AwesomeJob is one of the main reasons I didn't flee back to Texas when everything fell apart earlier this year.
But I won't wait forever. Either for AwesomeJob or Texas.
