J.R.R. Tolkien, who wrote The Lord Of The Rings, invented a completely new language for the elves in Middle Earth, his imaginary realm - Esperanto. More than two million speak it worldwide now.

That is three or four shades of wrong.

Quick notes before bed:

Enterprise 1980: Who the hell thought up of that cliffhanger for Enterprise? Yeesh. I'm tuning in NOT to see how our crew gets out of it, but how the WRITERS get out of it.

I've decided to stop looking for work until after the con. I figure if I get a job now, they're not going to give me time off for it, either.

I'm going to wear a Comico button at the con, and see if anyone notices. :) The CDs I plan to give away/sell will also have the Comico Logo "embedded" in them as part of the deisgn.

Three or four shades? Whole color palettes, in my opinion. believe it or not, I hate that language. It might serve a useful purpose, someday, but it was developed a few hundred years too early.

Given the drive to cultural homogenization already in existence in this country, I'm surprised the Esperanto pushers haven't been more vocal about adopting its use "at least for public signs and notices."

It has something to do with "Those Damned Commies" usurping the language for their own use.
