2011 Predictions. DID THEY HAPPEN?!

*The Tea Party will continue to rant and rave, and surprisingly gain steam. DING DING DING Oh holy crap, true.
*They will continue to go after all who are not "like them", and suggest state line patrolling for racial profiling - especially states that share borders with other countries. BZZT While I personally think they're still going after everyone who is "not like them" I don't think they've decided to start state-line patrolling (although they are pushing patrols on the international borders).
*All LGBT gains will be lost -all states that recognize gay marriage will be made to repeal it. BZZT Although I don't believe we've made any really major major gains this year
*A large earthquake will occur along the Washington coast and trigger Mount Rainier to blow. The earthquake will cause the Viaduct to collapse, killing a couple hundred people and totally f-ing up that part of downtown.BZZT There were earthquakes, but not EARTHQUAKES. And Papa Mountain is as handsome as ever. The viaduct did partially come down by mortal hands...which totally f-ed up downtown, so I'll give that a weak ...ding...
*Weather in general will be more extreme this year than last; more hurricanes, fiercer hurricanes, tidal waves, earthquakes, etc. BZZT While colder in some places, warmer in others, it was a very weak year for severe weather. Or I wans't paying enough attention to the news.
*Gas will hit $5.50 per gallon in the US. BZZT. I did see it hover about $4.25 here in Seattle, which is one of the more pricey places in the US.
*I will finally lose some weight - at least 25 pounds by this time next year. And did you? I know I did!
*There will be between two and four more deaths in Seattle at the hands of the police (BZZT), and as a result of all the death at the hands of the SPD in the last couple years, there will finally be a real investigation (DING DING DING! They were actually criticized by the Department of Justice for being too quick to shoot). There may be rioting as well, the likes of which will not have been seen here since WTO (BZZT).

*At least 1 Person will die next year via Police hands in a protest related to either Student finance or Benefit reform. While this is a great prediction of the #occupy movement, all eight deaths involved were in the US, and (as far as we can tell) weren't police instigated. BZZT
*The Alternative Vote Referendum will pass by a slim majority (less than 10%). BZZT It failed with over 30% of the vote
*Less than 2 Liberal Democrat ministers will resign from front bench positions due to Coalition disagreements. I'm not all that up on British politics, but I believe only one Liberal Democrat resigned (Tavish Scott). So I'll give this one a provisional BZZT until someone more knowledabgle can comment.
*There will be no Change in the Conservative Manifestos about Marriage Equality* legislation and Nothing changed in law. It looks like it was considered, but I couldn't find anything that changed the manifesto or law. Again, a provisional BZZT unless someone more knowledgable tells me otherwise.
*The Most Annoying Reality TV/Pop Music "song" from the UK will be more annoying that the Most Annoying one from America. I don't know...Rebecca Black's "Friday" is AWFULLY awful.
*Every single Sci-fi series starting (season 1 Episode 1) between January-March of next year will be canceled. There were sci fi shows premiering in spring 2011? I can't think of a single one off-hand. 99% chance of cancellation, though.
*Assange from Wikileaks will go to jail and NOT release the Insurance File Key. They're trying real hard, but BZZT...for now.
*The End of the world judgment day people of http://www.wecanknow.com/ Will change the date (DING DING DING) to sometime in 2012 from May 21st 2011 as it is as of writing this (BZZT). It was moved to October 2011, then never referenced again.

*I will finish the story I am working on, edit it and start the process of getting it published. My first attempt will result in a rejection letter, but I wont give up after this. And did you?
*Oh I would also like the add that the predicted return of Jesus in may of this year will not happen. DING DING DING

Regarding the gas price thing, i am pretty sure i saw $5.57 per gallon at Shoshone, CA, and it was definitely up there at some of the other Mojave Desert gas stations. And that's still cheaper than what most of the rest of the world pays :)
