With the Trans Comedy Award sunk, and I've kind of come to a realization that I will probably never break into professional writing. However, that won't actually STOP me from writing. As if it could (Especially after some encouragement from JMS(!)). But it may lead to a new personal project: The Vault.

One of the reasons I tried to get into TV in the 90s, and even just recently by pitching CS as an idea to a friend, and the Trans Comedy Award, is I'm painfully slow at drawing these things, and not really all that good at fiction writing. Filming is faster, and more dynamic than drawing the same three-quarter view face with differnet hair styles.

I'm also not a very good prose writer. The Girl in the Mirror (which is still being written piecemeal when my conscience isn't guilting me about some of the things I'm writing) is fragmented and repetitive. IT's style changes too broadly. Wishworld was the same.

Closetspace began in 2011, with a specific beginning, middle and end. 12 years later we're only about 66 to 75% through with the story. Same with AWFW. I managed to finish AWFW in 2004 and seamlessly go into it's sequel which has kind of languished, but also about 70% through with the whole story 12 years later. When I finish thise, I'll likely be 15-20 years into these stories. Starting a new one would take another twenty years to draw.

I am, however, an incredibly fast screenwriter. If I'm not worried about descriptions that set the stage and mood and atmosphere and just "dialog and action" I can belt out a script in a few days. "THIS THEN THAT AND HE SAYS THIS THEN THAT" versus "He did this thusly, making sure that that was done in the magical way he did it. He purred 'I did this, and while you were doing that, I also did another thing.' His tender nipples chafed...." Well, you get the idea.

The Vault would be writing whatever scene or episode of whatver story is on my mind, and keeping it tucked away for viewing later. Not sure if I'd hold it all back from view until an entire stories scripts were finished, or publish it as I wrote it. Or even where it would go (I like to keep dolari.net for "work I'm intending to finish" and deninet.com for ideas, snippets, works in progress or apocrypha.

This way I'd have my stories available, in a format that could be adapted to writing or comicking. But most importantly - could be done by someone else should something happen to me, or I just get bored, or someone gets interested in doing it themselves faster and better.

But most importantly - it would still tell the stories, and have them in a format, albeit sparse and technical, where you could read them.

What do you think?
