Well, from 1997-2000, I used an STB TV Pro, with the old BT848 chip in it. It was a decent card for 1997 and got a LOT of use until the coax plug got torn off in bad trip over the wires. :P
2002-2004 I used an ATI TV Pro. It wasn't really all that good, but it was cheap. I used it to make the first test runs of archiving my tapes, but the screen was really tiny, and the quality wasn't so good.
Now I'm using a Hauppauge 401 WinTV Radio card, which works GREAT. If you're looking for a TV card for recording I suggest this one and a program called PowerVCR, which you can find at www.gocyberlink.com. With both of these and a little tweaking you can get some Semi-DVD quality stuff recorded, if you have the hard drive space. :)
