COMICS ARE DELAYED UNTIL MID-OCTOBER
(originally posted on the website)
It's been a while, but it's time I let you in on what's been going on, and why there are no comics. And why there won't be any for a little while yet.
The move back to Texas has been fraught with a lot of stuff happening over the last few months. The plan was always to move back to Texas in April, get a job by May, and live with a former roomie until I got my own apartment by September.
That's not exactly how things went.
I did get back to Texas in April. But in May, my soon-to-be roomie's mother passed away suddenly. He ended up moving back to his home in Pennsylvania to care for an ailing dad, while I sat out the remainder of the lease.
The job search went FAR longer than I expected, but I was able to crank out a few comics while waiting for the work to come in. I managed to find a job in early July, about the time the last comic was done. After about a half week of training, I realized I was way in over my head. I stopped the comic work while I tried to study up, but to no avail. But the start of my second week I was let go.
This puts us in mid-July. I had to be out of the house by the end of September when the lease runs out. I basically decided to hang off of comics until I could get work again, and devoted most of my time to getting a second job. It wasn't until Mid August that I got a second job.
This second job is also tough, but not nearly as the one before, so it's taken time to learn it. Time I can't draw comics. On top of that, there is now the need to not only move myself out of the house at the end of September, but my roomie, who raced to Pennsylvania without taking any of his stuff. I'm packing for two.
On top of that, there's moving, reacquiring furniture, getting a new apartment (which I've applied ro yesterday). It's been an incredibly busy month. But there's a light on the horizon...
...it's looking like, knock on wood, things will be calming down...mid-October. I hate to do that to y'all, but it's the earliest that life will allow me to do anything. I may have some art projects to show off here and there, and one I'm hoping to get done ASAP for a friend, which I'll post here.
I'm really sorry about this, everyone. Sometimes life deals you a four hit fierce combo and KOs you for a little bit. Once I'm settled in, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things.
I really appreciate your patience, and all your support. Just bear with me a little bit longer. :)
