So, after paying all my bills, and a $200 electricity deposit, and $132 in NSF fees cause I'm a complete fuckup in math, I have $70 left. So no furniture AGAIN.

And it may be a while...my next paycheck is a rent check, and the one after that has three unpaid days in it and the one after that has obligatory Christmas gifting and the one..oh dear I've gone cross eyed....

Seriously, mint.com might help you out a lot. It's designed precisely for this sort of stuff, and from what i understand once you have a few months data in there it'll give you recommendations and let you know when you might end up going red.
