dolariPlayed the first 8 episodes of Doom all tonight. Reminded me of a weird emotion I get while playing the game.
There are places where you can get put into a closet sized area, and have a door slam behind you with no way out. Outside, you can hear monsters (MANY monsters) growling and yelling and screaming. You'd think this would be scary.
Instead, I find it very very very calming and safe. I'm here. In a small yet somehow cozy room they can't get into. I can relax and calm down. Rest even. In a way, it's more relaxing than thrilling or scary.
