So...I lost my Twilight Princess progress after sinking thirty three hours and 80% into it. This is...disheartening...to say the least. But not the first time this has happened.

I lost my Zelda II save game in the late 80s, apparently at the very end of the game, found out later. I did end up finishing it from scratch. Twenty five years later.

I finished Link's Awakening, but lost the save game for it. I'd always meant to go back and replay it, but only after I finished all the other games.

I'm trying to play the games in ”timeline” order too...there is still one more game after Twilight Process i'm won't play until Twilight Princess is done. Also one game had since come out in a timeline I'd finished. I'd always meant to play that second-to-last.

So...I don't want to play Twilight Princess. At least not right now. I have a few options in front of me. Which should I take?

1) Skip Twilight Princess, go straight to Four Swords Adventures. Come back to Twilight Princess at the end of all the other games, timeline be damned.

2) Skip the entire Child Link Timeline including Four Swords Adventure. Go straight to Adult Link timeline and the Wind Waker HD/Phantom Hour Glass/Spirit Tracks and come back to the Child Timeline later.

3) Treat this as a ”break.” Go back and re-complete Link's Awakening to get that save data back, then play the new Link Between Worlds...then come back to Twilight Princess.

4) THERE'S A GREAT BIG WIDE WONDERFUL WORLD OUT THERE AND YOU'RE TOO DAMNED OLD TO BE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES.
