Final thoughts on Link Between Worlds before getting back to Twilight Princess.

Link Between Worlds, for me, is both the equal and opposite of Majora's Mask. Equal in that the story is awesome. Opposite in that the difficulty is a bit easy.

I love the story plot of having a mirror universe that isn't straight up Star Trek levels of Mirror Universe evil. You have a Princess Hilda who is cares for her kingdom as much as Princess Zelda...but is opposite in that she despairs. Her first lines are "My name is Princess Hilda, and I have failed you in every way." There's another character who is opposite of his Hyrule counterpart in that he's a coward, but also working to help Hilda in his own way. The story is awesome. Even the sudden but inevitable betrayal made perfect sense, and the followup, too.

The game, however, feels a bit easy, and I think this is because of the new mechanic of renting/buying dungeon items. The overworlds were really very very easy, even for a portable game. The dungeons were challenging, puzzle wise, figuring out what needed to be done where, but the enemies were also a bit easy (hookshot, dizzy, swipe, lather, rinse, repeat). The enemies I hate with a passion, Wallmasters, just were a breeze. But then they were more tools than enemies in this game, and that may be what they were aiming for. The bosses however, those were tough. The one life I lost in the game was against a boss.

In all, not a bad game. Fun, if a little easy.
