In trying to get things organized and put together, I'd decided to start getting at some long overdue projects. One that I couldn't finish was the 2005 Trinoc CD, which isn't needed until July. One I COULD finish was the TACT T-shirt logos. The idea here was to make some sample logos for T-shirts, something high contrast to make it visible at a distance, and hard to "distort" when someone wears it. The second thing I was going for was making a new logo period, for long term use. Here's what I came up with:

Original Logo by Someone Else:

Texas Logo 1:

Any similiarity to the logo I made for my dad totally coincidental.

Texas Logo 2:

A mix of the original logo and the Texas Logo. It's really nice and one of my faves, but may be too busy to be recognizable from a distance

Star Logo:

This is what I like to call the Texas Star, which is EVERYWHERE in Texas and usually only Texas. Now it may not be recognizable as a Texas image outside of Texas, but is pretty nice looking if you're not from these parts.

Triangle Logo:

The obligatory Upside Down Triangle logo. Not really a fave, but more of a "They're gonna ask for one, so let's cut them off at the pass."

Tomorrow, the Trinoc Only version of Closetspace.

Emily is an incredibly thoughtful person. And very very very very sweet. Even when I'm unbalanced. I love her dearly. :)

I like the original Texas state one and the star one. The orbit one is definitely a bit busy and the triangle is just meh. Simple and bold is the way to go imho. Perhaps you could combine the triangle with the Texas state one (replace the "X marks the spot" star with a triangle) if they want it?

I hope none of us were gonna ask for the triangle... I like the star one.

Nice work on those... I like the Texas logo #2 as well, but how about this: move the ellipse a little further southwest (so it appears to completely encircle the state) and set the text off to the right side. In other words, split the difference between #1 and #2.

I like max_volume's idea. The star orbiting Texas could be a cool-looking image.
