AWFW is more inspired by Battlestar Galactica than I realized. Watching "Lost Planet of the Gods" I realized my story of ancient hunters falling ill and having to recruit children of both genders may have been inspired by this story of mostly male warriors falling ill and being replaced by mostly female shuttle pilots.

Bonus points for having a female warrior before this episode, having one after, and showing several of the new recruits staying on after the emergency is over in subsequent episodes.
