Thanksgiving Dinner...as per my mother, was served at about Noon. I'm guessing it's really a Thanksgiving Brunch for us. How many other people eat Thanksgiving Dinner that early?

Anyways, My Uncle Steve came over with his kids, my grandmother and Uncle Rick.

Creepy Uncle Rick.

He bugs me. A lot. He's a "one upper" always butts in with a fact he made up from thin air. A compulsive liar. And he FOLLOWS YOU AROUND EVERYWHERE. He won't let you go. You can't lose the guy. And he has this...creepy vibe...to him.

We all sat down, and ahd a nice dinner...Turkey, Ham, Greenbeans, potato casserole thingy. I know I'm really down on my mother, bu she can cook QUITE the spread. She'd spent two days on the feast, and it came out to perfection. Expecially the deserts. Did I mention the sugar galzed pecans? I hate pecans with a passion - but she glazed them in some sugar butter glaze and they're TASTY. No to mention the apple pie (not quite an Amish apple pie, but close enough), and the Tremendous-It-Wouldn't-Be-Thanksgiving-Without-The Fruit Salad. Mmmmmmmmmm.....good cookin'.

AndI got the same ribbing I get every year: "Why aren't you eating more?" IT's mostly because I don't believe in stuffing my gourd to the point where it's painful to move.

After that, my computer lost ANOTHER limb - where my video capture card (I finally got Win95 on the machine, with about 50MB of space left on the drive) has decided to kick the bucket as well.

I just can't win for losing electronically, can I?

Tonight I take my last pills. and go on involuntary artificially induced Menopause...this is gonna be trippy. :P I need to see my doctor, and get more pills. ARGH! Stupid Economy - get better already!

At least I wont lose what I already got.... :)

some musings on eating early:

back in the day when my male progenitor was alive, he'd take me to his house on the other side of town and his wife would keep me and my stepbrother in the basement while she made supper. They always ate at like 1 or 2, no idea why. Possibly so they could bring me home early enough to do a couple of lines together before bed ... well, at least I have no memories of Thanksgiving with him.

my stepdaughter really wanted us to have dinner at 1 so she would be able to plan her evening with her fiance's family down to the minute. She's like that. She actually had the nerve to insist that we conform to her desires ... to which I was just like, Good luck kid! As it turned out, we ate around 4, but I honestly thought it'ds be all set at 2 when the turkey was supposed to be done; and we were all just lounging around anyway for a couple of hours before she had to go. She's so manic, and for nothing most of the time!

sorry if i'm being negative.... :)
