Nov. 21st, 2014 06:38 amI felt it was inappropriate to "self-aggrandize" on the Day of Remembrance (it's about them, not me), I wrote a small op-ed piece for the Advocate for this year's DOR (which was the "cathartic" DOR thing I mentioned last week). I didn't choose the title, and I don't like having "Rage" in it, but the words in the piece are what matter. Also, I have to apologize for under-numbering the dead. The list I saw had eighty. The list at the vigil I went to had 226.
While I did little in the way of the Day of Remembrance compared to others (I'm lookin' at you Gwendolyn Ann Smith and Ethan St Pierre) DOR is something deeply personal to me, and it felt good to do something (anything) for it again.
Next year, I may even draw a comic, Laura Ess....
