So apparently whatever took out my power supply took out my laptop, too. So I'm kinda sunk.

Comics on hiatus until I can get this working, a new computer or get the old Windows 98 one working fast enough to make comics.

This has been a shitty day. I'm going to bed before it finds another way to screw me over.

Error code 142 is "the hard drive failed self-test and may be dead." Try reseating it in case of loose connection, but if the reseat doesn't work, then you need a new drive. (Boy have I seen lots of 142s and 146s in my life ...)
