We've won a huge victory today, and there are celebrations all over the country. Party hearty. We deserve it.

But remember that this isn't the end. Remember that there are still rights and guarantees we'll need to win over. Same sex marriage doesn't end all discrimination, and we'll need to work on removing those blockades soon.

So enjoy today. And tomorrow, let's get our boots back in, break out the sledgehammers, and start work on the next roadblock...

...aw, heck. It's Pride Weekend. Take a three day weekend. We can afford it after this win. :)

I do admire the coincidence of the end of the SCOTUS term, where they traditionally announce the most major decisions, with Pride weekend. ^_^

Indeed, there's a lot more ground to be covered yet - legal decisions are one thing, but genuine societal acceptance is another, particularly in the lower latitudes. But it's all part of the same big ball - some conservatives may not like this decision, but inevitably, such legal legitimacy does percolate through the public consciousness.
