dolariSaturday was, unfortunately a workday, making my weekend SUCK. However, my actual work day didn't suck at all!
Where I work, and the hours I work, I'm surrounded by men. My supervisor and coworkers were all men. Well, one of them moved to days, and we got a new overnighter, a young woman.
Let me tell you...maybe it's the estrogen, or maybe it's just having some feminine energy around me, but it's ABOUT TIME. We made so much girl talk over two days that we shared EVERYTHING about each other. that's such a NICE feeling seeing as I talk about "things" with my other coworkers.
She's really a sweetie, and I hope we get to do it again some more! :D
It didn't end on a good note, though...a coworker came in and started talking about possible layoffs at work. I talked to him about my layoffs at Dell, sure...but as soon as people showed up, I said discreetly that we should change the subject.
The dude wouldn't shut up about "THIS PLACE WILL NEVER HAVE LAYOFFS! OR MAYBE THEY WILL, BUT WE'LL KNOW!" constantly as people came in, and esepcially when one of our supervisors came over for the overnight report.
This is how people get marked as "firable material."
Project 1 completed. Project 2 worked on, and postponed.
