I'm not sure. ^_^; To go north/south, though, I'd have to recommend the PCH - absolutely beautiful route. Not the fastest, but with views of that kind, that's an advantage. =:) Snag then is you're stuck on a fairly humdrum route east/west via Las Cruces. Though you do get to enjoy the giant dinosaurs outside San Bernardino. ^_^
