I took some unnanounced streaming time tonight to test out some game streaming! The results of that test? Eh, not so good.

Since we live out in the sticks, we're saddled with only a 1MB upload speed for the house. Most game streams use 2MB for their basic streams, I'm using 300k for my comic streams. I was able to get a passable video at 600k and by cramming the video down to 852x480, but any action heavy screens still blurred really badly. I may do them again, but likely not anytime soon.

We pIayed some Street Fighter II Turbo, Mortal Kombat II for the Playstation and I had a lot of fun torturing the watchers with "Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game."

1Mbit, not 1Mbyte, I'm guessing? Mm, 600k would be pushing it, especially for a live stream, encoded real-time. Blar. I wonder if H.265 would work? The service could then transcode and serve H.264 out to most folk.
